"Sugar Bars Tough", is a 1998 Red Dun grandson of Sugar Bars, bred and raised by Jim & Joni Hunt at the Open Box Rafter Ranch of Faith, South Dakota. “Toughy” was sired by their late great Sonny Sugar and out of a double bred Tough Bar bred mare, from the Carver Ranch. The Carver horses are noted for their ability in the arena and on the ranch. “Toughy” has good black feet; he is heavy boned, stands 15.2, and weighs 1150 lbs. He is easy moving and very athletic, with a quiet attitude. “Toughy“ was injured as a yearling, he was rode for 60 days, but currently stands as a breeding stallion only. Toughy's colts have willing minds are proving to be fast learners.
"Toughy" is a proven color producer! Producing over 90% red dun's. The 2008 foal crop included eight red dun's, a palomino/red dun and a buckskin!
